What Is God’s Plan for Me? — And How to Prepare for What’s Next

"What Is God’s Plan for Me?" — And How to Prepare for What’s Next

🔍 Have you ever asked yourself, "What is God’s plan for me?"

I have. In fact — if we’re honest — most of us ask this question more than we’d like to admit. Sometimes in quiet moments before sleep. Sometimes in the midst of a tough season. Sometimes when everything’s going well, and yet, there’s still a pull toward more.

Not just more money. Not just more success. More meaning. More alignment. More purpose.

🌱 My Journey Hasn’t Been Perfectly Laid Out

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life rarely unfolds the way we imagine it will.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt a pull — a deep desire to be more than average, to create something meaningful, and to serve people in ways that truly matter. That desire has led me down many paths. Some I chose. Some, I was pushed onto. And some, I stumbled into not knowing it was exactly where I was meant to be.

I’ve experienced incredible highs — opportunities, successes, and relationships that made me feel unstoppable. And I’ve also walked through valleys I didn’t see coming. I’ve faced death, family loss, financial devastation, and seasons where I wondered if God had forgotten about me. But through it all, I now realize He was shaping me. Humbling me. Preparing me.

I believe those highs and lows weren’t random. They were necessary. They reminded me that my life isn’t about chasing my own plans, but about walking in His plan — one that’s bigger, deeper, and far more impactful than anything I could design on my own.

And here’s what I’ve come to understand: God’s plan isn’t a perfectly mapped-out blueprint.

It’s a path revealed one faithful step at a time.

🌱 The Truth About God’s Plan

Here’s what I’ve learned after years of chasing answers: God’s plan isn’t a blueprint you get handed. It’s a path you walk, one obedient, faithful step at a time.

It’s not about a job title, a zip code, or a social status. It’s about becoming the person you were created to be — through every challenge, every opportunity, and every person you meet along the way.

🗺️ So What Is the Destination?

The destination is alignment.

That place where your faith, your gifts, and your work all converge into something bigger than yourself.

You’ll know you’re getting there when:

  • You feel both challenged and fulfilled.
  • You sense a peace even in uncertainty.
  • Unexpected opportunities find you.
  • People start affirming what you’ve always quietly known about yourself.
  • Your work leaves a ripple effect far beyond your job description.

🔧 How Do You Prepare for It?

Preparation isn’t glamorous, but it’s sacred. It’s what shapes you into the kind of person who can handle the weight of your calling.

Here’s how to start:

✅ Develop your character. Stay humble. Be disciplined. Trust even when it’s uncomfortable.

✅ Sharpen your gifts. Whatever you feel called to — leadership, speaking, creating, serving — practice it now, where you are.

✅ Build relationships. Your future often moves at the speed of your relationships. Surround yourself with purpose-driven, faith-centered people.

✅ Stay in alignment. Make prayer, reflection, and Scripture your daily calibration tools. Listen when your spirit feels unsettled. Pay attention when you feel peace.

💭 Reflection Questions for You

  1. What’s the one passion or burden I can’t seem to shake?
  2. What are people constantly affirming in me that I might be overlooking?
  3. Where have I been resisting preparation, because it felt insignificant or too hard?
  4. Who in my circle is chasing alignment — and how can we support each other?

🙌 Questions to Help You Serve in God’s Way, Not Just Your Own

  1. Who in my life right now needs encouragement, guidance, or simple kindness that I’ve been too busy to notice?
  2. What resources, skills, or experiences have I been blessed with that could help someone else if I chose to share them?
  3. Am I waiting for the perfect opportunity to serve, or am I willing to start small with what’s right in front of me?
  4. How can I turn my past pain, struggles, or lessons into wisdom for others walking through similar battles?
  5. What’s one act of service I can do this week — whether seen or unseen — that aligns with God’s heart for people?
  6. Who should I invite into a conversation about faith, purpose, or life calling this month?
  7. Am I open to God using me in ways that might feel uncomfortable, inconvenient, or outside my plans?

➡️ I challenge you to pick one of these questions today, write your answer down, and act on it this week. Small steps lead to divine direction.

Every single day, you and I are faced with decisions. Some small, like what to eat for lunch or whether to hit the gym after work. Others feel massive—deciding to leave a job, start a business, end a relationship, or move to a new city.

In the fast-paced world of modern business, certain skills never lose their value — and if you were to ask any seasoned entrepreneur, executive, or professional climber what’s essential for long-term success, sales and business development would be at the top of the list. Yet, many overlook just how foundational these areas are, not only for closing deals but for opening doors in every career, business, and industry.
