The Go Getter: Lessons in Grit, Vision, and Action from Rene’ Manfre

The Go Getter: Why I Wrote It and How It Can Help You
When I wrote The Go Getter, I didn’t set out to create another “motivational” book. I wanted to create something real. A guide for people who are tired of waiting for the perfect moment and ready to move on their vision.
I’ve built businesses from scratch with little more than grit and persistence. I’ve stumbled. I’ve failed. I’ve started over. And I’ve discovered along the way that success is rarely about resources—it’s about resourcefulness.
This book is about that mindset. It’s about becoming the kind of person who refuses to sit on the sidelines of their own life.
Let me share a few core lessons from The Go Getter that I believe can help you right now.
1. Action Creates Clarity
One of the biggest traps I see is people waiting—waiting for the perfect time, more money, or more confidence. The truth is:
“The world rewards those who move, not those who wait. Action itself creates clarity, and clarity creates opportunity.”
When I started in business, I didn’t know everything (and still don’t). But I learned that clarity comes from doing, not from thinking about doing.
✅ Take one step today. You’ll learn more from moving than you ever will from waiting.
2. Discipline Beats Motivation
Motivation is exciting, but it’s inconsistent. Discipline is what carried me when I didn’t feel like making another call, writing another proposal, or putting in another hour.
“Motivation is the spark, but discipline is the engine.”
If you’re relying on motivation, you’ll struggle. Build systems and habits instead.
✅ Ask yourself: What’s one non-negotiable habit that moves me closer to my goals every single day?
3. Vision Is Your GPS
I’ve learned that vision is what keeps you moving when life gets hard. Without vision, distractions win. With vision, you find the strength to keep going.
“Vision is not about where you are; it’s about where you refuse not to be.”
Your calendar should reflect your vision. If it doesn’t, it’s just a dream.
✅ Write down your vision in one sentence—and then schedule it into your life.
4. Failure Is Tuition
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve failed. Businesses that didn’t work. Ideas that fell flat. But every one of those failures taught me something.
“Failure is not the enemy of success. It’s the tuition you pay on the road to mastery.”
If you’ve failed, you’re not disqualified—you’re in training.
✅ Reframe your last failure. What did it teach you that you couldn’t have learned otherwise?
5. Anchor Yourself in Purpose
There were times I felt like quitting. What kept me going was faith and purpose. When you live for something bigger than yourself, you find strength you didn’t know you had.
“Purpose gives you strength when your strength runs out.”
Your “why” will always outlast your willpower.
✅ Ask: Who benefits when I refuse to quit?
6. Excuses Kill Execution
I’ve heard every excuse—lack of time, money, connections, experience. I’ve even made a few myself. But the truth is:
“Excuses are lies wrapped in logic. The Go Getter finds a way, even if the way hasn’t been invented yet.”
Some of my best ideas were born when resources were scarce.
✅ Next time you hit a wall, ask: What can I do with what I have right now?
7. Success Is Hidden in Daily Habits
People often ask me how I built multiple six-figure businesses. The answer isn’t glamorous. It’s small, consistent habits, repeated daily.
“Your future is hidden in your daily habits.”
What you repeat becomes who you become.
✅ Audit your habits. Replace one negative habit this week with one positive one.
8. Leadership Is Service
At the end of the day, being a Go Getter isn’t just about achieving for yourself—it’s about lifting others as you climb.
“Leadership is not about being in charge. It’s about taking responsibility for outcomes, including those of the people you influence.”
True leadership is serving others with your gifts, knowledge, and example.
✅ Find one way this week to add value to someone else’s journey.
Final Thoughts
I wrote The Go Getter because I believe more people are capable of achieving greatness than they give themselves credit for. But it takes action, discipline, vision, faith, and persistence.
The biggest lesson? Don’t wait for perfect. Don’t wait for permission.
Be the person who gets it done.
If this resonates with you, I’d love for you to read the book—and even more, I’d love to hear how you’re applying these principles in your own journey.
